ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES

If your student is absent from school:

Call the Voice Mail attendance line at 285-0238 daily.

For your convenience, this line is available 24 hours a day.

If your student needs to be dismissed from class early to go to the doctor, dentist, etc.:

If you are aware of the appointment ahead of time, send a note to the office with the student first thing in the morning, they will be given an off-campus pass that they can show to the teacher and be released from class at the appropriate time.  Don't forget to come into the office to sign your student out.

If you are NOT aware of the appointment ahead of time call the office as soon as possible, so we can contact the student and make them aware of the appointment and when you will be picking them up.

Please remember to have your child return from all medical appointments with a note or slip from the doctor's office.  We cannot clear up any medical appointments without verification from the doctor.

If your student will be absent for an extended amount of time:

Vacations:

All vacations are considered unexcused absences.  For vacations that are less then five days, your child should notify the office by note and request work from the teachers.

Vacations that are over five days in length require that an Independent Student Contract be completed.  Your child should come to the office to pick up the Independent Study form several days prior to your vacation.  Please have him/her bring a signed note with the correct dates of the vacation.

Illness

Contact the teacher via the Voice Mail system and request the homework for your student.

Homework

Please check the web site, msms.crpusd.org for teacher homework and future assignments.

REMEMBER: It's almost impossible to reach your student in their PE class......the classes are outside, in areas without phones, etc. and once they are in their PE clothes there is no way for them to get back into the locker room to change, so plan ahead.

IMPORTANT   For your students safety, your student can only be released to the people you have listed on your student's emergency card, so please keep your student's emergency card updated.
